Watercolour Paintings
I loved watercolour paints when I was a kid so it made sense to start there as an old, but not old enough lady. I purchased a small and inexpensive set and a bit of paper. It quickly began to develop into something I found myself increasingly drawn to doing more and more of it, eager to explore every possibility.
After the Rain
5.5” x 8” Watercolour Painting
November 2025
As the rain started one summer afternoon, Sue the spider remembered a story her friend, Mr. Itsy Bitsy, told her one day. So instead of climbing up the waterspout during the rain, Sue decided to stay in her web. After the rain with a web full of water drops and wet toes Sue thought, perhaps the waterspout idea wasn’t so bad after all, might be fun.

If you close your eyes and listen you can hear the busy bees and the happy grasshoppers. The summer breeze is warm on your cheeks and sweet to your nose. With eyes open, the colourful flowers jump into view and the mushrooms are sure to sing a tune. Welcome to our garden, glad you could come.

I lived on a farm for awhile when I was young. Those years are filled with many wonderful and cherished memories, and farms have always held a very special and meaningful place in my heart.. I also love cows, so I had to paint one.
Through the Birch
7” x 5” Watercolour Painting
November 2024
This was my first experience with Hot Pressed paper, instead of Cold Pressed. I didn’t know the difference so I purchased some of both to learn. I enjoyed working with the hot pressed. There is a lightness and a softness that comes naturally with this paper.

Bath Time

Two rather strange bird creatures I created. They are not sure about the water, looks a bit cold. So they stand and stare, waiting for the other to take the plunge. This could take awhile….
A Quiet Tuscany Road
7.25” x 5.25” Watercolour Painting

I love cycling and watch a lot of world road racing. The Spring race, the Strade Bianche which is in Tuscany, inspired this piece. I just needed to paint the trees there.
Misty Morning Flight
8” x 5.5” Watercolour Painting
June 2025
When I was little I would sit and watch the hot air balloons travel over the farm fields behind my house. I love the rich, vibrant colours and how quiet and calm they make the entire scene feel. I can only imagine how beautiful it would be to drift along into a misty morning sunrise.
